The Orangery
Our light and airy Orangery situated at the rear of the hall, is the perfect setting for an intimate wedding, with draped ceilings, elegant chandelier and natural decor to complement the beautiful outdoor space. The orangery overlooks the most beautifulpanoramic views of both the Gardens and rolling Essex countryside as far as the eye can see. This ceremony room is perfect for couples who want to say 'I do' surrounded only by their closest family and friends, in a space that feels both sophisticated and wonderfully intimate.

The De Beauvoir Suite
Named after the wealthy De Beauvoir Family, descendants of Osmund De Beauvoir, who was rector of Downham for years and owned the Hall from 1723 to 1821. The De Beauvoir Suite has been carefully renovated and today offers sophisticated, elegant ceremony space for larger celebrations. This beautiful ceremony room features tasteful décor, a stunning chandelier that casts a gentle glow, and a tall bay window that frames you perfectly as you exchange vows.

Outside Ceremony
If you would like to make the most of our stunning grounds, our lawns overlooking the moat are perfect backdrop to say "I Do'. Our wedding couples walk along the front of the hall to the rear of the grounds and enjoy country views all around surrounded by wildlife. secluded. quiet and teh perfect private area for our couples and their guests, this is a fantastic setting for our couples to enjoy and make the best memories.
